Hi Shirley! We just wanted to tell you that Willis is doing great! He's adjusted very well to his new home. He's pretty much house broken, he responds to "come","sit","paw.' He healthy and happy and now weighs 4.2 pounds and it seems like he gets bigger every day! Thank you for taking such good care of him before he came home! I've attached a picture so you can see him. I will send some more in few weeks!

I bought a puppy from Shirley at Shirls Whispering Winds in January. Throughout the whole process, Shirley was great - she answered all of my questions and updated pictures of the puppies on her website weekly.
When I went to pick my puppy up in January, Shirley gave me a packet containing vaccination records, a birth certificate and CKC registration papers. My puppy also got a blanket that smelled like her littermates and mom, as well as a couple toys.
My vet was very impressed when I brought my puppy for her first appointment - he told me that breeders that start puppies out on Eukanuba food and take care of the first vaccinations were the best ones out there.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. But, you should have no reservations about buying a puppy from Shirley - she takes good care of the puppies and makes the whole process easy for the new owners!

My name is Kim O'Brien and I purchased a puppy from Shirl's Whispering Winds last summer. I found the breeder online and liked what the web site had to say. I sent an e-mail inquiring about the available puppies and Shirley responded that same afternoon. I had several questions and Shirley was so helpful. After a lengthy conversation with her I decided to put a deposit on a puppy. She suggested that we name our new puppy and let her know of our decision so that she could call him by his new name(Bartleby)so that he would get used to it. For the next several weeks I e-mailed Shirley many times with questions and she was always quick to respond. She would send me updated pictures so that I could see how he was growing. When he was six weeks old we drove to Shirley's house to visit our new boy. Again, Shirley could not have been more accommodating. She and her husband Ed sat and talked with us and answered all of our questions and let us take pictures of Bartleby and his mom. At eight weeks old we again drove to Shirley's to bring Bartleby home. Since taking Bartleby home, I continue to update Shirley on Bartleby. She is always willing to answer questions regarding training, development, etc. Bartleby has a wonderful vet and has been to training classes, but I like that I have Shirley as a resource because she knows so much about the dachshund breed. All of the puppies I have seen at Shirley's are beautiful, healthy puppies that are well cared for and loved. I would recommend anyone to choose a puppy from Shirl's Whispering Winds. They are dedicated to their dogs and want the best possible homes for them. Bartleby is a wonderful addition to our family.

I am sending you this note regarding your interest in getting a puppy with Shirley, from Shirls Whispering Winds. We are completely in love with the two miniature dachshunds we've adopted from her.
We first put in our deposit for one puppy in November, Toby came home January 30th. We fell in love with him right away, and knew he needed a little brother to play with. We then called up Shirley, and were back on the list for a 2nd puppy. Keith came home on Friday March 20th. The puppies are so good and already the best of friends. They are healthy and great with our two children.
We used to have a 95 lb. black lab...having two puppies is a piece of cake compared to him. Although we do miss him, it's very nice having Toby and Keith in the house to welcome us home. They are beautiful and already feel like they've always been a part of our family.

I am writing to let you know what a great experience it was getting our wonderful puppy, Elliott, from you. From the first, you were helpful and patient with me and with my daughter. We had so many questions about getting a new puppy, and you answered each and every question that we had. We loved visiting your website each week to see how our puppy was doing, and you were so great about posting new pictures. After visiting your home, meeting your family, and seeing how well all the dogs and puppies were treated and how dedicated and caring you are, I knew that we had found a great breeder and a lifelong friend.
Elliott is the sweetest little puppy. He is healthy and happy and well behaved and he has been a wonderful addition to our family. He has been to the vet several times to get his shots and each time the vet has commented what a great dog we chose.

Words could not express how lucky we are to have Midori. She is a very energetic puppy. She loves to play with all of her new toys. Our outside time with her is always a fun time for us. From the moment we got her home, she fit right in to our family. You took such good care of her when she was born until we got her. She is perfectly healthy and has a beautiful coat. We are going to enjoy many, many years with her. Everyone asks us where did we get such a beautiful little girl and we always telling them about you and your pups. My name is Anna and we purchased two females from Shirley. We have been so happy with the entire process. She kept us informed of the mom’s health as we awaited the birth of our girls and we were notified hours after they were born. Shirley sent us weekly pictures as well as stories and her observations of personalities as they developed. Her love for the breed is demonstrated in so many ways. She is strict about her breeding practices and always puts her pets welfare first. We have had so many conversations since we first got to know each other and I have learned so much even though I previously owned another dachshund for almost 17 years. Without a single reservation I recommend her to you. I have friends that are already considering new puppies based on my experiences and seeing my new babies. My husband and I decided to get two for companionship while we are at work. Our oldest daughter has two so we could see how nice it was for them to have a playmate. Their antics alone keep us amused. Were do I begin it was one of the happiest days in our life when we found the picture of Apollo on your site. It was almost to much to hope that he would be available. I was all over the computer looking at Doxies ,your pictures and the way you presented your site enthralled me you have a talent for showing the best angles of the dog and their personalities they were all so beautiful I wanted all of them. he stood out he was several months old and I wanted a play mate for out very lonely Doxie who lost all his beloved mates in one year..The most gorgeous boy named Apollo. His picture was the perfect little puppy full of love and cuteness. not to mention he was a cream color and I had never seen one before. I had to call right away. You are one of the most knowledgeable person of all those I dealt with and the most sincere. We were inline for Apollo and I prayed that he would be mine. I spoke to Shirley several times and came to understand that Apollo had a great little mommy already her name is Trinity she became very attached to Apollo. Shirley had several new puppies and very kindly introduced Trinity to a new little girl dog named Chocolate and worked to get Trinity attached to her new little girl dog and give Apollo to us.
As miracles would have it and God willing I went down to meet Shirley, Ed, Trinity and Apollo and Trinity was very accepting of us and gave us Apollo to take care of. It took a lot of work and patience on her part and I appreciate her hard work that I believe with all my heart was a labor of love
Today I was in obedience class with Apollo and my instructor was out, there was a substitute teacher there and he knew Apollo and Shirls Whispering Winds . His name was Ryan and he and Jon bought Reilly from Shirley a year ago What a great reference to find litter mates in Massachusetts and a dog trainer to boot. He spoke highly of Shirley but I already had her on a pedestal.if I were younger I would be taking on another dog and definitely only go to Shirley.

Buying our little Peppin from Shirls Whispering Farms was a great experience. The atmosphere was friendly, the puppies in the house were clean and not afraid to greet me when I entered the house. A very happy family!
Shirley and her husband were very knowledgeable about the dachshund breed and took time to answer all my questions. The documentation was excellent, they answered all my questioons about treatment, food, toys, training etc. Moreover, since I picked my Mini-Doxie up when he was already 10 weeks of age, they had already taken him to a vet to get him started on his shots. And even now, whenever I have a question, Shirley does not hesitate to help me. Very impressive. A happy doxie home.Peppin is doing great and was in very good health when we picked him up.I will most certainly buy again at ShirlsWhisperingWinds, and I do not hesitate to recommend this breeder to all my friends.
Hazel is happy and healthy. She is about 5 pounds and has some vaccinations. She and Bella are getting along. She is well on her way to being house broken and responds quickly to sit and come, shake, and stay if you’re lucky. She loves the outdoors and playing outside. My experience with Shirl's Whispering Winds has been fantastic from day one. I found Shirley's site on the internet and was struck by the adorable pictures of well loved puppies. After the deposit Shirley let me visit her home to meet all of the dogs even before my little Edgar was even thought of. I was glued to the website all through Pemi's pregnancy and picked Edgar the day he was born. Shirley, Ed, Trinity and the rest of the family took good care of him and I swear that he already knew his name when I got to visit him at 3 weeks and he was well socialized at 6 weeks when we saw him again. Right before my boyfriend and I took our Edgar home, his litter mate Lulu became available and my boyfriend's sister, Christina, also our upstairs neighbor bought her. Edgar and LuLu have been living together with us for about 8 months now. Shirley has kept in touch and has gone way beyond the call of duty answering all of our questions in a professional, thoughtful manner. This is absolutely much more than a business for her.
I just want to thank Shirley for my beautiful, loving new puppy Maggie. She is awesome. Maggie joined our family Sept. 2008 and came into a house with one other dog (a 70 lb Golden retriever, Abby), three cats, two birds and a bunny. They all get along wonderful. Abby and Maggie are always together, they never want to be without each other, they eat together, play together and sleep together, they even look alike!
We had a wonderful experience with Shirley. She was in constant contact with us from the very beginning by phone or by email. Whenever we had a question she was there with an answer. She is very,very knowledgeable about her dogs and takes very good care of them. She is their mom and has a really hard time letting them go. I have kept in touch with her this whole year of having my dog and she has become a good friend. We have even visited a couple of times with my Maggie and her cousin Stella. Stella is the dog my cousin David got from Shirley. I have been highly recommending Shirley to everyone I meet who wants to know where I got Maggie. She was so highly recommended that like I said my cousin went to her for Stella.
She is a caring lady and takes very good care of all her puppy's and dogs. Her home is very welcoming and Shirley and her husband treat you like family. I felt like I have known them for years when I first met them.
I will continue to recommend Shirley and if I can convince my husband to get another puppy I will go right to Shirley!

She has been to the vet twice and both vets in the practice said she is healthy and adorable.We had visited a breeder in our area and found them over priced, and they just were not good looking dachshunds, we were grateful to have found your website and have been very pleased with the pictures you provide and the information you have given us.
I think it is great that the puppies are raised in your home and see lots of kids,teens and people,it really gives a head start on the socialization process.I feel I have a good looking ,healthy doxy at a fair price,with lots of extras...I especially appreciate the baby pictures.It is great to be able to have the first few months pictures when they change so much.
