Hello Shirl and Ed.  Camo is doing great and getting long, and is such a joy to have around.  Sometime he's what gets us through a workday knowing we'll get to see him when we get home.  Our daughter who works at a zoo brought over a young kangaroo to meet Camo.  As seen in the picture they got along great.  Hope all is well.

Just a little note to say how wonderful it was to find, meet and do business with Shirley and Ed from Shirl’s Whispering Winds.  My son and I have wanted to add a miniature dachshund to our family for several years.  In February 2010, we decided the timing was right and began scanning local newspapers to no avail.  Dominic and I decided to search online and came across Shirley’s warm, inviting, informative, website and fell in love with our Finnegan!  After several questions and e-mails back and forth we put a deposit on our little boy!  Shirley was professional, prompt, patient and very kind!  A few of my questions involved adopting a second puppy to keep Finnegan company.  Shirley explained what a good time frame would be to have two pups from separate liters, whether a male or female was better and more!  A few weeks later, we were lucky enough to put a deposit on our little girl, Molly!  The whole experience was stress free and a pleasure. 

    It has been about 3 months since we searched the web!  We feel blessed to have two Chocolate Pies in our family!  Finnegan is a sharp, playful, lover and Molly is a sassy, curious, cuddler!  They are getting along great and have even won the heart of our 13 year old Springer!

After having no luck finding a Dachshund breeder in my area I turned to rescues and accidentally stumbled upon Shirley's website. I looked for 2 months into getting a mini Dachshund. I studied Shirley's website and did a little bit of research on my own about the breed. I finally contacted Shirley and started the process of getting our new puppy. I would like to say a big thanks to Shirley and Ed for being such wonderful people. My family and I had a fantastic experience working with the both of them through our puppy process. They were both very welcoming. Shirley was very prompt in answering every question I had, no matter how silly! We love having our little Romeo home. He is a great dog and we couldn't have asked for anything better. He has been excellent in potty train and in his temperament and I thank Shirley for that! Thank you with all my heart... You gave us the most beautiful little boy who has added so much love to our family.  Denny is so much fun and has given us so much laughter and affection. When I thought about adding a mini-dachshund to our family I searched the web and there you were... You bring your puppies into the world with careful consideration to their breeding and with so much love.  You treat them as a part of your family right away and give them all the attention and love they need to start off their new lives.  I am forever grateful to you for staying in touch with me for close to a year as I patiently waited for my heart to heal from the loss of our dear Max till the right puppy came along.  When Denny and his littermates were being born you knew and called me right away.  He was born just days before Christmas and he was the one... Thank you for letting me come to see him the day right after Christmas and the constant updates and pics were soooo appreciated.

  Shirley, you made the whole experience exciting, special and loving... I would and I do tell everyone where Denny came from... your heart. He is so friendly and outgoing everyone loves him and I take him everywhere with me.  Denny is a gem... he is our sweetheart. We love him so much and it is all because of you!

Hi Shirley and Ed,

This is the Pastor family- Judy, Brian, Kelly, Tony & Olivia. We purchased Beans from you back in June. We wanted to update you on Beans and also give you a reference for your site. I couldn't figure out how to directly post it, so if you want to copy and paste it and put it up- feel free! We also attached a few pictures too. He's growing up so fast, and turning out to be just as studly as his father, Sentinel!

This year, our family decided to get a puppy  and we decided we wanted a miniature dachshund. We searched for breeders in the Massachusetts area and came across Shirley and Ed. As first time puppy owners, we were concerned about the responsibilities of the puppy, but Shirley and Ed helped us through the whole process. They helped us select a puppy that would be a perfect fit for us among all the puppies they had, and let us visit while he was still with his mother. They gave us advice and helpful hints to raising a puppy too. The parents of our puppy are very good natured and have a wonderful temperment, and our puppy does too. Beans is very sweet, he is well socialized to children and other dogs and he is very friendly. He loves going for walks on the beach and playing with his favorite toy- Mr. Martian. We would highly recommend Shirley and Ed to anyone looking for a puppy, and know that if we ever had questions or concerns, we could call them for help. Thank you bringing Beans into our lives- we love him very much!!
