Long Coat Vs. Smooth
Long coats have the reputation for shedding a lot and being harder to maintain, but they are actually no more grooming than a smooth coat and shed no more than a smooth coat.
Whatever coat you choose Dachshund, they make great pets and have very little "doggy" odor
Males make wonderful pets if they are fixed at 6-8 months of age.They do not raise their legs to urinate or "mark" their territory. Males are calmer than females and are often easier to train and they listen better. Most people ask for a cute little girl.The males are just as cute and will usually be the most affectionate and cuddly.
