Males make wonderful pets. If they are fixed before they are 6 months old, they do not raise their legs to urinate or "mark" their territory. Males are calmer than females and are often easier to train and they listen better. Most People often ask for a cute little girl. Long Coat Vs. Smooth...
Long Coats have the reputation of shedding alot and being harder to maintain,but the actually no more grooming than a smooth and shed no more than a smooth. Whatever coat you choose Dachshunds,they make great pets and have very little "Doggy" odor.
